Rocío del Pilar Fuentes Chauca, from Peru, is a poet, editor, cultural manager, and feminist activist. Deeply influenced by her Andean heritage, she channels her creative and professional energy into promoting gender equality, feminist art, and cultural research. Rocío studied linguistics and literature and is currently pursuing a master's degree in gender studies at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, a journey marked by resilience while combining her training with work and motherhood. She published her first collection of poems at the age of 25.
Rocío’s professional career includes positions in cultural organizations, such as the Peruvian Chamber of Books and the Ministry of Culture, where she promoted projects focused on the internationalization of Peruvian books and coordinated important cultural fairs. In 2017, Rocío co-founded Collera Red, a collective focused on feminist cultural projects, winning awards such as the "Women's Voice and Leadership" scholarship for impactful artistic activism. Additionally, in 2021 she founded Madrépora Editorial to highlight feminist literature, memory, and critical thinking.
Rocío's future plans include expanding Collera Red into a sustainable cultural association, increasing Madrépora's reach with academic essays on gender and literature, and organizing international festivals for women creators. She is also developing a literary project, “Everyone tells you little stream of love,” inspired by her Andean roots. Rocío's work embodies a commitment to bringing together art, academia, and activism to promote inclusive and feminist narratives and democratize knowledge around the world.

Rocío es poeta, editora, gestora cultural y activista feminista. Profundamente influenciada por su herencia andina, canaliza su energía creativa y profesional en la promoción de la equidad de género, el arte feminista y la investigación cultural. Rocío estudió lingüística y literatura y, actualmente, cursa una maestría en estudios de género en la Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, un recorrido marcado por la resiliencia al compaginar su formación con el trabajo y la maternidad. Publicó su primer poemario a los 25 años.
Su trayectoria profesional abarca puestos en organizaciones culturales, como la Cámara Peruana del Libro y el Ministerio de Cultura, donde impulsó proyectos enfocados en la internacionalización del libro peruano y coordinó importantes ferias culturales. En 2017, Rocío cofundó Collera Red, un colectivo centrado en proyectos culturales feministas, ganando premios como la beca "Voz y Liderazgo de las Mujeres" por activismo artístico de impacto. Además, en 2021 fundó Madrépora Editorial para destacar la literatura feminista, la memoria y el pensamiento crítico.
Los planes futuros de Rocío incluyen expandir Collera Red para convertirla en una asociación cultural sostenible, aumentar el alcance de Madrépora con ensayos académicos sobre género y literatura y organizar festivales internacionales para mujeres creadoras. También está desarrollando un proyecto literario, “Todos te dicen agüita de amor”, inspirado en sus raíces andinas. El trabajo de Rocío encarna un compromiso de unir el arte, la academia y el activismo para promover narrativas inclusivas y feministas y democratizar el conocimiento en todo el mundo.
